Hi, I am Elena Kuzmicheva, I am a Software engineer.
While I studied psychology at Columbia University. The topic of artificial intelligence and how a string
of zeros and ones interpreted by a peace of inorganic matter can compete with human brain that
programed it would not leave me alone. This burning question lead me to online programming courses on
Udacity, MITx and Edx.org. When I realized that my job as a restaurant manager was getting in the way of my exploration
of programming I got into one of the best programming bootcamps in the country to speed up the process of
making this exploration my career.
I have experience building Web-applications using Ruby on Rails, Python, React, Redux, JavaScript, CSS/Sass, Bootstrap and Node-Webpack technologies.
Recent Projects
Remember The List is a single-page web app inspired by Remember The Milk, a time-management
application. The use of React decreased latency and improved overall render time of the application
by reloading only relevant components. Redux keeps state thinly structured, which significantly
cuts render time. It also creates unidirectional flow of data to makes application’s behavior
predictable and easy to debug. The biggest challenge was replicating their clean, to the point
styling, which I solved by using CSS Grid combined with Flexbox.
Front-end browser game built using Vanilla JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Canvas and sprite animation.
